Police log: Convenience store robbed by masked gunman

LAWRENCE - A convenience store clerk and a shopper were robbed by a masked gunman early Tuesday morning.

Officer William Hale Jr. responded to Tedeschi’s at 208 So. Broadway at 2 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery. A gunman wearing a white mask and black hoodie robbed the clerk of cash in the register and a patron of her purse.

The suspect then fled the store, running toward Andover Street.

The robber is described as stocky, about 5-feet-7-inches tall wearing blue jeans and black shoes. He spoke English and Spanish during the robbery, according to Hale’s report.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance videotape taken from the store.

Arrest: Rodayka Hernandez, 37, of 123 Oxford St.; trespassing, 50 High St., 6:50 p.m.


Burglary: 167 Lowell St., 2:51 a.m.

Theft: 115 Merrimack St., stolen Christmas tree, 9:02 a.m.

Shoplifting: 70 Pleasant Valley St., 12:35 p.m.

Harassment: 19 Glen Ave., 4:11 p.m.

Harassment: 47 Fenwick Circle, 4:12 p.m.


Citation issued for illegal window tinting: Bay State and Chickering roads, 10:43 a.m.

Citation issued for speeding: near 1701 Osgood St., 11:37 a.m.

Citation issued for speeding: near 1600 Osgood St., 12:02 p.m.

Citation issued for failure to wear seat belt: Sutton Street, 2:44 p.m.

Citation issued for red light violation: Chickering Road and Massachusetts Avenue, 3:45 p.m.
