Rockingham Mall trip for seniors planned

---- — NORTH ANDOVER - A holiday trip to the Rockingham Mall in Salem, N.H., is being planned for senior citizens. The bus will leave the North Andover Senior Center, 120R Main St., at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 17. Cost is $4 round trip.

Volunteer medical transport drivers needed

The North Andover Senior Center needs volunteer drivers to bring elderly people to medical appointments. Drivers can set their own schedules, morning or afternoon, any day of the week. For more information, call Cahla at the Senior Center at 978-688-9560.

Foot care clinics set in North Andover

NORTH ANDOVER - Catherine Languedoc, RN, a foot care specialist, will be at the North Andover Senior Center the third Friday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon. Upcoming dates are Dec. 21, Jan. 18 and Feb. 15. Dr. Connolly is available the second Wednesday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Upcoming dates are Dec. 12, Jan. 9 and Feb. 13. Mix, mingle

event benefit Lawrence school

ANDOVER - Bellesini Academy is hosting a ‘Mix, Mingle and Make a Difference” event Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lanam Club on Main Street.

Tickets are $75 or participants can choose a $500 sponsorship for four tickets or $1,000 for 10 tickets. Proceeds benefit after school enrichment programs at the all-boys middle school in Lawrence.

Students are in school for 12 hours a day, with academics ending at 3 p.m. followed by mandatory after-school activities. At 5 p.m., Bellesini students go home for dinner and return at 6:30 p.m. to do their homework or get tutoring.

Hatherly Players hold Christmas concert in Methuen

METHUEN - The Hatherly Players will perform a Christmas concert, “There’s no Place Like Home,” Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Methuen Music Hall, 192 Broadway.

South Church offers yoga classes

ANDOVER - Fran Healey leads yoga classes Wednesdays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at South Church, 41 Central St. Healey is a registered yoga teacher who said practicing yoga strengthens the immune system, improves sleep and better balance.

There is no set fee, but donations are accepted.

Composer performs in Methuen

METHUEN - PBS composer Tim Janis performs his newest holiday production, “The Christmas Rose” Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Dupre Center at Presentation of Mary Academy, 209 Lawrence St.

During his musical career, Janis has produced 10 Billboard charting CDs and sold more than one million albums. He has worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, James Earl Jones and George Clooney.

He has also conducted the Czech National Symphony, the Kwazulu Natal Philharmonic and last Nov. 30, he was at Carnegie Hall conducting an orchestra for “The American Christmas Carol” concert for Kate Winslet’s Golden Hat Foundation.

Janis gained new fame last year after his performance of the “American Christmas Carol” which will be broadcast again this holiday season as part of the National Public Television specials.

host blood drives

HAVERHILL - St. Joseph School of All Saints parish is hosting a community blood drive Dec. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The school is located at 56 Oak Terrace.

Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover is also having a blood drive Jan. 15 from 1:30 to 7 p.m.
