METHUEN — A penchant for seafood put a Lawrence man in handcuffs Tuesday.
Jorge Aponte, 43, of 32 Lawrence St., was arrested and charged with two counts of shoplifting by concealment, larceny of property valued under $250 and assault and battery.
Police said Aponte was caught stealing shrimp from the Market Basket and a variety of items from AJ Wright discount store, both on Haverhill Street.


Arrest: Felix Tirado, 39, 115 Berkeley St., Apt. 2, Lawrence, driving after suspension, attaching wrong plates, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered and uninspected vehicle, 1:35 p.m., 211 N. Main St., Tuesday.
Arrest: Jillian Twohig, 26, 28 Nutter Road, North Reading, driving after revocation, 2:18 p.m., 180 Dascomb Road, Tuesday.
