LAWRENCE — Thieves broke into a parked car and stole the owner's purse while she was visiting friends on Dartmouth Street, police said.
Ana Medina, 47, of Lawrence told Officer Frank Bradley her car was parked in front of 35 Dartmouth Street while she was inside, and when she returned to the car, she discovered the passenger side window had been smashed and her purse taken.
She told Bradley her purse contained a checkbook, credit cards, debit cards, medical insurance cards, personal papers and bills, Social Security cards, and $480 in cash.
The incident was reported at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, police said.
