LAWRENCE — Two masked man, one carrying two ninja-style swords, held up a Lawrence Street clothing store and escaped with $1,500 police said.
Police were sent to Sabolina Fashions, 205 Lawrence St., about 1:48 p.m. Monday where a man told them he was working next door at 203 Lawrence St., when he heard a commotion like a fight, coming from the clothing store.
He told police he heard a man yelling "get on the ground," and then walked next door where he saw two people on the floor.
The clerk told police he was alone in the store when two men wearing black masks came in and threw him on the floor, and yelled at him in Spanish, demanding money.
The clerk told police he told the robbers to take the money, just not to hurt him.
While the pair were looking for the money, the clerk ran next door to seek help, police said.
