ANDOVER -- It was a wet, chilly and foggy this morning in downtown Andover. In other words, it was perfect. At least that's the response from the record 9,120 entries for the 22nd annual Feaster Five Road Race on Thanksgiving day, bettering the old mark by almost 1,000. Here are a few of the highights: Boston Marathon legends Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit-Samuelson were among runners and walkers. The Kids K event drew an estimated 800 children, surpassing the old mark of 700. 5K race: Eric Narcisi, of Charlestown, and Allison McCabe, of Cambridge were the winners. It was Narcisi's first Feaster Five. the 29-year-old native of Smithfield, R.I. is in the area visiting the Powers family of North Andover. McCabe, 27, has now won the 5K race three consecutive years. 5-mile race: Nate Jenkins, of Andover, and Benoit-Samuelson, of Freeport, Me. were the male and female champs. Jenkins, a former star racer at UMass-Lowell, is a first-timer at the Feaster Five. Benoit-Samuelson, 52, beat local favorite Nina Caron, of Andover, with a burst at the end.
