Trees all aglow until Dec. 5

METHUEN — There are 211 trees on display at the Festival of Trees now through Dec. 5.

The 16th annual event is at Valley Office Park, 13 Branch St. It is open weekdays, 5 to 9 p.m., and weekends, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

General admission is $8 and children under 12 are free. For information, visit www.methuenfestivaloftrees.com.

Proceeds will be used to preserve heritage and monuments in Methuen and surrounding communities.

Timberlane parents, get the scoop on technology

PLAISTOW — "Using Technology in the Classroom" will be offered to parents of middle- and high-school students in the Timberlane Regional School District on Dec. 1. The program, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., will be in the district building, 30 Greenough Road.

Parents will learn how teachers use technology to promote learning and engage students. No preregistration is required for the free event. Call 362-4499 for more details.

Dance off that holiday dinner in Kingston

KINGSTON — A contradance is set for Saturday night at Kingston Town Hall.

It will be called by Old Grey Goose. Dancing from 8 to 11 p.m.

Admission is $8. There is a refreshment potluck. Bring snacks to share and clean-soled shoes for dancing. All dances are taught and beginners are welcome.

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary to meet

HAVERHILL — AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 147 will meet Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at post quarters, 576 Primrose St.

President Juanita Marchand will preside. The auxiliary's annual Christmas dinner party will be Dec. 10 at Pub 97 in Groveland. Those who plan to attend are asked to call Alice at 978-374-6294 before Dec. 1.

Tree lighting canceled

NORTH ANDOVER — Due to unforeseen circumstances, the North Andover Women's Club will not be holding a tree lighting on the town common Saturday. For information, call Donna Cuomo at 978-685-9360.
