Derry man dies on I-93 in Londonderry

LONDONDERRY — An unknown medical condition may have led to the death of a Derry man who crashed his car last night on Interstate 93.

The accident occurred at 4:53 p.m. when the car driven by Philip G. Latimore of 74 Fordway Extension was traveling south of Exit 5 when it collided with another vehicle, state police said.

State Trooper Sean Harrington, who is investigating the accident, said the car driven by Latimore, whose age was unavailable, drifted to the left, sideswiping the other vehicle and sending it onto the median. No one was injured in that car, state police said.

Latimore's car continued to the left, traveling across the center median and across the northbound lanes of I-93.

Latimore's car struck a guardrail and continued south across the northbound lanes, hitting some trees.

No further information on the accident was available last night.

No one could be reached for comment last night at Latimore's home.
