Dracut man killed in Londonderry crash

LONDONDERRY, N.H. - A 21-year-old Dracut man was killed in a two-car crash on Mammoth Road this afternoon.

The man was killed when his southbound Pontiac Grand Prix collided with a Ford F-150 pick-up truck heading north near 163 Mammoth Road at about 1:30 p.m.

Neighbor Sean O'Keefe, who is also a Londonderry town councilor, said he used a sledgehammer to smash open a side window in the Pontiac to ventilate the interior which was filling with smoke.

Firefighters cut driver's door to free the operator and place him on a backboard, he said. The driver of the pick-up truck was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Police Lt. Scott Saunders said the Technical Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.

A medical flight was called but they were not flying due to the inclement weather, according to the Londonderry Fire Department.
