Teen arrested on charges of selling pot at high school

LAWRENCE — A 15-year-old high-school student was charged with selling marijuana at the school, while wearing his JROTC uniform, police said.

After his arrest Tuesday afternoon, the boy was released to his parents for an appearance in Lawrence Juvenile Court.

Police said a 15-year-old girl was caught with marijuana at the school and told police she bought it from the 15-year-old boy Tuesday morning.

When Principal Michael Fiato searched the boy he found nine $10 bags of marijuana and $12 in cash. Police said when Fiato asked the boy about the marijuana, he replied that he sold drugs in the Lowell and Oxford street area. The boy was arrested and charged with distribution of marijuana and distribution of marijuana near a school or park.

While he was being booked at the police station he was asked if he wanted to provide any information to police, and he refused, telling them he is the only one involved, police said.

The 15-year-old girl was given a citation for possession of marijuana.
