Coats for Kids drive winds down
Anton's Cleaners' annual Coats for Kids drive will accept coats of all sizes until the end of the week.
The goal is to collect 60,000 gently used coats. Donations may be dropped off at Anton's or Jordan's Furniture stores by Saturday.
All the coats collected will be cleaned by Anton's, at no charge, and then distributed to families in need of warm coats for winter with the help of the following agencies: Massachusetts Community Action programs, the Salvation Army, Cradles to Crayons, BUMC: Outreach Van Project, and Catholic Charities.
Since 1995, Coats for Kids has distributed more than 550,000 coats, representing $6.5 million in donated cleaning costs. Supporting partners for the drive include Graham Communications and Package Supply Corp.
