9 cars broken into on Museum Square

---- — LAWRENCE — At least nine cars were broken into on Museum Square late Thursday night or early Friday morning, according to the police log.

The thief or thieves entered the vehicles by breaking the windows. A large quantity of glass was strewn about the street.

A cell phone and cash were stolen from one car, according to the log.

Home invasion reported in Lawrence

LAWRENCE — A home invasion in the city was reported Sunday night.

Two armed men, both dressed in black, were seen exiting a house and getting into a car, according to a BOLO (be on the lookout for) notice sent out by Lawrence police to area law enforcement agencies at 10:36 p.m. Sunday.

Further details were not available last night.

Alleged domestic abuser held without bail

ANDOVER — A man arrested and charged with assault and battery on a household member Friday night was ordered held without bail pending his arraignment in Lawrence District Court today.

Farid Varmazyari, 35, of Medford, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. at 19 Carter Lane. A clerk magistrate ordered him held without bail, according to the police log.

Varmazyari spent the night in the police lockup and was transported to Middleton jail Saturday morning.
