NORTH ANDOVER – Mary Beth Soucy is running for another five-year term on the North Andover Housing Authority.
Soucy, a fourth-grade teacher at Annie Sargent School, is a second-generation member of the Housing Authority board. Her mother, Helen Soucy, served on the board from the 1980s until she died in May 2008.
Mary Beth Soucy was appointed to take her mother’s place, then won the election to fill out the term.
“I’ve really enjoyed it,” she said of her service with the Housing Authority. So far, Soucy is the only person who has taken out nomination papers for the position.
The election will take place March 26. Besides a Housing Authority board member, voters will elect a selectman and a School Committee member, both for three-year terms.
Those who want to run for office have until Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. to obtain nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall. Each candidate must file at least 50 valid signatures by Feb. 5
