NORTH ANDOVER — Those who enjoy eating tasty morsels and helping the youth of North Andover will have the opportunity to participate in both activities March 9.
That’s when the annual Taste of North Andover, which raises money for the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center, will take place. The event will be held at the center, 33 Johnson St., from 7 to 11 p.m.
The fundraiser features food from local restaurants. Sixteen restaurants have committed to contributing their products, according to William McCarthy, one of the organizers.
Besides food, the Taste of North Andover includes a live and silent auctions, where people can bid on sports tickets, gift certificates and other items.
This year’s Taste of North Andover comes on the 25th anniversary of the center, which was established with a $15,000 state grant in 1988. The center is named for the late state Rep. Joseph Hermann, D-North Andover.
To purchase tickets, at $50 each, visit www.nayouth.com. Those who buy their tickets before Feb. 18 will be entered in a raffle for a $100 prize.
