Survey to seek residents' views about open space preservation

NORTH ANDOVER — The Conservation Commission is asking residents to take part in a survey on the town’s open space and recreational opportunities.

“We are looking for your ideas on how we can make North Andover’s open spaces and recreation areas great for all to enjoy,” Conservation Administrator Jennifer Hughes explained.

A link to the survey can be found on the town’s homepage under “Town News.” Residents can also visit the project website found on the Conservation Department’s homepage.

The town’s website is www.townofnorthandover.com.

Hughes, Conservation Commission members and other supporters of trails and open space preservation have begun working on bringing the town’s Open Space and Recreation Plan up to date. Hughes explained that the plan needs to be renewed every seven years for the town to be eligible for grants from the state Executive Office of Environmental Affairs.

The survey is an important part of bringing the town’s open space plan up to date, Hughes said.

The town has hired Brown Walker Planners of Newburyport to assist in the updating of the Open Space and Recreation Plan.
