Copper wire taken from National Grid

NORTH ANDOVER — Several reels of copper wire were stolen from the yard of the National Grid facility at 1101 Turnpike St., police said.

The theft was reported to police at 3:35 p.m. Friday.

Thieves entered the yard by cutting through a fence in two places, police said. Police Lt. Charles Gray did not have an estimate on the value of the stolen items.

The following items were taken from police logs around the region:


Aug. 19

Theft: Washington Avenue, 9:47 a.m.

Arrest: Jorge Santiago-Correa, 48, of Lowell, attaching wrong plates to a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle or trailer, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle, Lowell Street, 4:31 p.m.

Domestic incident: Coventry Lane, 7:35 p.m.

Arrest: Alexandra Ricciardelli, 22, listed by police as homeless, trespassing, Burnham Road, 9:19 p.m.

Aug. 20

Accident: Pedestrian hit by car, no injury reported, Chestnut Street, 9:12 a.m.

Theft: Pasho Street, 10 a.m.

Theft: North Main Street, 3:05 p.m.

House break: Summer Street, 6 p.m.

Aug. 22

Theft: Riverside Drive, 8:26 a.m.

Accident: Car into utility pole, one car towed, High Plain Road, 11:28 p.m.

Aug. 25

Theft: Tires taken from motor vehicle, River Road, 2:18 a.m.

Arrest: Iris Gonzalez, 57, of 77 Farley St., Lawrence, marked lanes violation, driving with no license in possession, speeding in violation of a special regulation, operating under the influence of liquor, River Road, 2:37 a.m.

Accident: One car towed, North Main Street, 1:44 p.m.



Theft from a motor vehicle: Tires reported stolen, 38 Linwood Ave., 6:51 a.m.

Vandalism: Graffiti, Railroad and Union streets, 10 a.m.

Theft: Lucky Garden, 10 Haverhill St., 10:49 a.m.

Arrests: Gilberto Jesus Baez, Jr., 24, 162 Spruce St., Lawrence; Francis Miguel Cabrera, 21, 219 Walnut St. Lawrence; trafficking in heroin, manufacturing/distributing a class A substance, possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute, possession of a class A substance, possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute, possession of a class B substance; 170 Haverhill St., 12:45 p.m.
