LAWRENCE — A Rhode Island woman visiting the city got a rude welcome when thieves smashed a window in her parked car and took her GPS device on the weekend.
Maria Pichardo of Providence told Officer Guillermo Rojas she parked her 2008 Nissan Altima in the lot at 431 Common St., about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and when she returned to the car at 2 p.m. Sunday, discovered the drivers side window had been smashed, and her Magellan GPS taken.
Police said there are no suspects and no witnesses to the crime. The theft was reported at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, police said.
