METHUEN — Mayor Steve Zanni is joining with the Methuen Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) in hosting a regional forum on the Massachusetts Autism Commission Report tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Tenney Grammar School. The forum will feature a presentation by the Chairman of the MA Autism Commission.
“I’ve really valued the opportunity to work closely with the parents of SEPAC,” said Zanni. “Through our many interactions it has come up that our autistic residents really do face a number of obstacles. I thought it would be a great idea to bring together our local SEPAC with state officials so that they can learn more about the future of services in Massachusetts.”
Mayor Zanni reached out to Barbara LâItalien, who formerly represented parts of Methuen in the State Legislature and currently Chairs the Autism Commission, to come to Methuen and discuss the Commission’s findings.
“This is a person who is recognized as a state-wide expert on this issue,” said Mayor Zanni. “I’m glad that Barbara is coming and speaking directly with our residents.”
The forum is free and open to both residents and non residents alike. Light refreshments will be served.
