Two kids caught burglarizing unlocked cars in North Andover

NORTH ANDOVER — An alert police officer arrested two youths just minutes after they allegedly entered an unlocked vehicle early Friday morning, according to Lt. Charles Gray.

Officer Jason Wedge saw two young men with backpacks walking near Massachusetts Avenue and Waverly Road in a suspicious manner, shortly after 1 a.m., Gray said. Wedge began questioning them and during his inquiry, a resident reported two youths had been seen opening the doors of a car at 12 Trinity Court, he said.

After further investigation, Wedge arrested both subjects and charged them with breaking and entering in the night and attempted larceny.

Arrested were Aderlin Nina, 18, of 303 Jackson St., Lawrence, and a 15-year-old boy, also from Lawrence.

The 15-year-old was taken to a secure juvenile facility in Lowell while Nina was arraigned in Lawrence District Court later that day, Gray said.
