Pentucket Bank gets North Andover Branch approvals

NORTH ANDOVER — Pentucket Bank has received approval of its plans to build a new branch location in North Andover. The North Andover Planning Board and Conservation Committee gave its permission for the new full service branch, which will be located at 1077 Osgood St. Scott Cote, president and CEO of Pentucket Bank, said the free-standing branch is conveniently located within the popular Butcher Boy Market Plaza at the intersection of Route 125 and Route 133.

Construction will begin in the spring with a planned opening later next year. Cote said his bank is looking forward to showcasing its “Pentucket Bank Difference” in North Andover and becoming a good neighbor with other businesses in the Butcher Boy Plaza.

“We are also looking forward to serving the financial needs of the citizens of North Andover and becoming an active part of the local community,” Cote said. “As a mutual bank, Pentucket Bank has no shareholders and focuses all of our attention on our customers and the needs of the communities that we serve.”

Established in 1891, Pentucket Bank is a full service community bank with assets of $644 million and branches in Haverhill, Massachusetts and Salem and Hampstead, New Hampshire.

Library to hostauthor talk tomorrow

HAVERHILL — The Friends of the Haverhill Public Library will present an evening with authors Michael and Patrick Emerton tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the library’s auditorium, 99 Main St.

Michael and Patrick Emerton, authors of “Luke 17:2, A Memoir of Abuse, Recovery, and Triumph,” grew up in the city’s Riverside area during the 1980s and 1990s, a time when a priest in their local parish was accused of sexually abusing young boys.

The Emertons hope their narrative will shed light where darkness exists, reveal the consequences of power unchecked, and inspire anyone trapped under the weight of secrets to be freed.
