Wreath sponsorships support veterans

EAST KINGSTON — Wreaths Across America, in association with the East Kingston Community United Methodist Church and the Peoples United Methodist Church in Fremont, provides the opportunity for community members to honor past and present veterans through a wreath sponsorship program.

Veterans buried in the Fremont and East Kingston cemeteries will be remembered and honored with the placement of a wreath on their gravesites during the holiday season.

Proceeds from the sponsorship of the wreaths will provide food, shelter, clothing and training for homeless veterans in the local area.

Call Gerry Tilley at 895-6588 to sponsor a wreath by phone or drop by the East Kingston Town Hall or the Fremont Town Hall to fill out a sponsorship form.

Wreaths cost $15 each. Ten dollars pays for the construction and delivery of the wreath. The remaining $5 will support area homeless veterans.

Volunteers are still needed to help place and remove wreaths as well.
