---- — SALEM, N.H. — A man faces multiple charges after he allegedly punched two mall security officers in the face late yesterday afternoon.

Nicholas Mello, 21, with no known address, was the source of numerous complaints at the Mall at Rockingham Park yesterday, according to Sgt. Jason Smith.

Mall security employees received multiple complaints about Mello, who was reportedly cursing at people, police said. The security workers tried to remove Mello from the mall, but he responded with threats and then punches.

Mello is accused of punching two security employees in the face, injuring both, police said.

Salem police responded to the mall just past 5 p.m. They took Mello into custody. He refused bail and was taken to the Rockingham County jail.

He’s charged with second-degree assault, two counts of simple assault, two counts of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

Mello is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in 10th Circuit Court in Salem.
