Pelham to elect three library trustees

---- — PELHAM — Voters will settle two contests for library trustee posts.

In doing so, they will turn over the majority of seats on the five-member board.

There is a four-way race for two three-year terms.

Candidates are Roseann Cares, Ann Clark Balcom, Cindy McGhee and David Sweeney.

There is a two-way race for a one-year term.

Candidates are Mrinmoyee Das and Darlene Michaud.

Cares said she wants to expand the library’s role as a community center for cultural and educational experiences.

McGhee said she wants vital programs that benefit the community.

Michaud said she wants to take part in the library’s growth moving forward.

Sweeney said he wants to make library staff contracted employees of the town and grow the library’s trust fund.

Mrinmoyee Das did not submit question-and-answer responses. Ann Clark Balcom could not be contacted.

Incumbents Susan Snide and Angela Hinkle are not seeking re-election. Robert Atwood also is stepping down from the board.

The election is Tuesday, March 11.
