SALEM N.H - Salem Community Benefit, the wholly owned charitable corporation of Salem Co-operative Bank, recently donated $50,000 to the Lawrence-based Lazarus House Ministries.
The check was presented by Nadema Gemmell, Chairman of Salem Community Benefit to Lazarus House Executive Director Bridget Shaheen. Also in attendance were Dave Beshara, Chairman of the Board and Ann Lally, President, both of Salem Co-operative Bank and Ray Joyce, Director of Development, Lazarus House.
The money will be earmarked for the Campaign for Dignity – a program that ensures people in dire need are provided with the basic necessities and then empowered through education and work preparation to transform their lives.
“Lawrence is so blessed to have the enormous goodwill and incredibly generous support of Salem Co-operative Bank,” Shaheen said. “It is a joy to have an organization that recognizes not only the need but the wonderful potential that lives in the city.”
“It is a privilege to be able to lend our support to Lazarus House Ministries. Many people are struggling to get by and supporting organizations that do so much good is one way we feel we can give back to the community,” said Lally.
