Coyle leads in county commissioner race

Early results yesterday gave Republican Kevin Coyle the top spot in the District 3 Rockingham County commissioner race. But Nottingham's results were not available early this morning.

Coyle, a former Derry town councilor, had a healthy lead over Democratic challenger Bob Davidson of Nottingham by a vote of 25,550 to 17,517.

District 3 towns include Derry, Londonderry, Auburn, Candia, Windham, Chester, Deerfield, Northwood and Nottingham.

Coyle won his GOP bid for commissioner in September beating out incumbent C. Donald Stritch and Phyllis Katsakiores, also of Derry.

Coyle said he wanted to bring a fresh set of ideas to the county job.

"I want to work with our local communities to make sure county government is providing what citizens need," he said.
