NEWTON — Five-term incumbent Mary Allen was re-elected yesterday in Rockingham House District 15.
Allen, a Republican, received 1,266 votes to 1,069 for Democratic challenger Robert Bartlett.
Allen, 82, served on the House Finance Committee and the Finance Subcommittee during her last term. She was first elected in 2002. District 15 only represents Newton.
The two candidates, both of whom are retired, have served their town in various elected positions over the years, including the Planning Board.
Bartlett, 76, was also appointed to the Newton Conservation Commission, serving as its chairman.
Both ran unopposed in the primary Sept. 11.
