WINDHAM — The property tax rate is dropping.
The state Department of Revenue Administration has set the tax rate at $23.05 per $1,000 of valuation, down 3 cents from last year.
The owner of a $300,000 home will pay $6,915, a savings of $9 year over year.
The school portion of the tax rate is $15.88, up 11 cents.
The town portion is down 15 cents to $3.64.
The county portion is up 1 cent to $1.07.
The statewide school property tax is unchanged at $2.46.
