DERRY — A dirt-bike operator was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a remote area off Halls Village Road, according to Derry fire Capt. Scott Haggart.
Emergency responders had to hike in to the area after receiving a call just before 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Four-wheel drive vehicles were used to reach the victim, whom officials did not name.
The victim was treated at the scene, then taken to a nearby field for transport by a DHART helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Haggart said.
Derry police and New Hampshire Fish and Game officials also responded to the scene.
The Chester Fire Department assisted with an off-road vehicle.
The accident was considered under control at 1:51 p.m.
