Veterans honored with wreaths in Kingston, Hampstead

Kingston Memorial VFW Post 1088 and the town of Hampstead will host wreath-laying ceremonies at noon tomorrow in Wreaths Across America ceremonies, two of nearly 300 across the country.

In Kingston, the ceremony will be in front of the veterans monument outside Town Hall on Main Street.

In Hampstead, it will be at the World War II monument in front of the town office.

Kingston seeks trust fund trustees

KINGSTON — The town needs volunteers to serve as trustees of trust funds until Town Meeting in March.

Registered voters with a background in finance and bookkeeping are asked to contact Board of Trustees Chairman Brad Maxwell at 642-4166. Trustees are eligible to receive a small stipend.

Candidates who are selected are encouraged to run for election to the open positions in March.

Adopt a child or senior

HAMPSTEAD — The Hampstead Lions Club is sponsoring a “Caring and Sharing Wish Tree” for local seniors and children.

Trees are at Center Market, Store N More and XtraMart. Donors can choose an ornament from a tree and return the ornament and an unwrapped gift to the store today. Gift values are limited to $25.

Get on trackfor the holidays

DERRY — It’s Model Railroading Fun Night from 7 to 9 tonight at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 W. Broadway. The Seacoast Division of the National Model Railroad Association is the host. Get together, talk about the hobby and enjoy some refreshments.

Bring some cheerto a senior

DANVILLE — There’s still time to brighten the holidays for a senior citizen. The Danville Senior Citizen Giving Tree is set up in Town Hall.

Take a tag and shop for a senior in need. Wrapped gifts must be returned to Town Hall by Wednesday.

Celebrate, enjoycrafts and food

ATKINSON — Celebrate the grand reopening of the Atkinson Community Center at 9:15 a.m. tomorrow at 4 Main St.
