SALEM — An American Heart Association course on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator use will be offered Monday, Jan. 13.
The course, for high school students and adults, is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Ingram Senior Center, 1 Sally Sweet Way.
The cost is $55.The course will also teach how to help someone who is choking.
Kids, join a crochet group in Plaistow
PLAISTOW — Crochet for Kids will hold their first meeting on Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Plaistow library.
They will be meeting every other week. Recommended ages are 5 to 10. Materials are provided.
Postponed Christmas concert is Sunday
METHUEN — A Christmas concert which was postponed due to the storm in December, will be held Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St.
Participating will be Lori Charette-McLaughlin, music coordinator at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish; John A. Middleton -Cox of the New England Tenors and “Central Harmony” the accapella group from Central Catholic High School, under the direction of Maureen Dougan. Musicians are the Rev. Scott Ness, Christine Torres-Vega, Rayna Merryfield, Diane Lafond, David Comtois and Sean Casey.
Free, but donations accepted. Refreshments follow in Duperry Hall.
Film looks at Jewish legacy on Broadway
ANDOVER — “Broadway Musicals, A Jewish Legacy,” a film examining the role of Irving Berlin, the Gershwins, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim will be shown Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road.
The movie is narrated by Joel Grey and includes interviews with songwriters and stars including Mel Brooks.
A deli dinner and discussion follows. Cost is $15 per person and reservations must be made by Jan. 23.
Women’s Club meeting Tuesday in Haverhill
HAVERHILL — The Women’s City Club of Haverhill will have its first meeting of the new year on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Advent Christian Church, 160 Carlton St.
Coffee hour begins at 1:30 p.m. followed by the business meeting at 2 p.m. A program featuring Eric McFadden begins at 2:15 p.m. McFadden has performed hit piano artistry in Las Vegas as well as in Europe. He will entertain the group with music from the 1930s to modern times.

Arts Foundation postpones AlumNight
WEST NEWBURY — The Pentucket Arts Foundation has postponed its 10th annual AlumNight, scheduled for tonight (Jan 3).
