PLAISTOW — The Timberlane Regional Budget Committee will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2014-2015 school district budget at the Timberlane Performing Arts Center on Thursday at 7 p.m. The snow date will be Jan. 17.

Fill up on roast beef in Hampstead
HAMPSTEAD — The Knights of Columbus, Maximilian Kolbe Council, will cook and serve a roast beef dinner tomorrow at 5 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church Hall, 5 Emereson Ave.
The menu also includes potato, other vegetables, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages.
The requested donation is $7 for adults, $3 for children under 12.
Learn how to research your home’s history
DERRY — Derry Public Library reference librarian Eric Stern presents a one-hour program Monday at 6:30 p.m. on how to conduct historical house research.
He will address the resources available at the library, as well as those available online, mainly the use of the Registry of Deeds.
Attendees will have access to the library’s computers to engage in hands-on searching of the Rockingham Registry of Deeds during the course of the session, should they so choose. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own wi-fi enabled laptop computers as well, since only eight computers are available.
All library programs are free to the public. Registration for this program is limited, however, so sign up online, in person or call Stern at 432-6140 for more information.
Have fun with model railroads tonight
DERRY — It’s Model Railroading Fun Night at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 W. Broadway.
The event, from, 7 to 9 p.m., is hosted by the Seacoast Division of the National Model Railroad Association.
The topic will be the history of railroads in Derry and the old trolleys.
