Londonderry man hurt in single-car crash

HUDSON — A Londonderry man was injured, although not seriously, in a single-car crash in Hudson yesterday morning.

William Drummey II, 64, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Accent east on Belknap Road just before 10:15 a.m., police said. he was alone in the car.

The Hyundai went off the road near Lorraine Street, struck and broke a utility pole, and stopped after hitting a tree, according to Hudson police.

Drummey was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for observation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

He, who was alone in the car, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The front airbags deployed. The car had serious front-end damage, police said.

The accident is under investigation, but alcohol was not a factor, police said.

Utility crews responded to the scene to fix the damaged pole and delays were anticipated on Belknap Road yesterday afternoon.
