Two battle for Sandown Budget Committee seat

SANDOWN — There are four Budget Committee seats available, but only one contested race.

Anthony Piemonte is challenging incumbent Dawn Nicolaisen for a one-year seat on the committee. The election is Tuesday.

Piemonte, who has never held elective office, said he wants to serve on the committee to better manage town spending. Nicolaisen could not be reached this week for an interview.

Cathleen Gorman is running uncontested for a two-year seat. No candidates filed for two three-year seats.

Voting will take place at Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
