Scholarship offered to N.H. college students

ATKINSON — Three $1,500 scholarships are available to New Hampshire college level students in their junior or senior year at college/university. These scholarships are not available for high school students. All applicants must have graduated from a New Hampshire high school.

Scholarships are offered by the New Hampshire Retired Educators Association; the deadline to apply is May 1.

For the Irene W. Hart Scholarship, applicants must have a major or minor in education and be studying at a N.H. college/university. For the Mary W. Ruell Award, students must be majoring in journalism or education at either a N.H. or out-of-state college/university. Finally, for the NHREA Memorial Scholarship, applicants must have a major or minor in education and be studying at an out-of-state university.

Join a tea party in Pelham

PELHAM — Pelham Public Library, 24 Village Green, will host a tea party 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25.

Scones and clotted cream are on the menu for this event, where Irish tea traditions and customs will be shared.

Free fraud-fighters program offered

LONDONDERRY — Fraud against the elderly is epidemic. Learn how to recognize fraud, outsmart scammers, prevent fraud, and be wary of scare tactics.

Attend the Londonderry Elder Affairs Committee rescheduled winter educational program, a presentation by AARP New Hampshire’s Volunteer Fraud Fighters on Wednesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at Leach Library, 276 Mammoth Road. Everyone is welcome.

Deadline looms for Salem scholarship

SALEM — The Salem Democratic Town Committee reminds high school seniors residing in Salem that the deadline to apply for their $500 college scholarship is Friday, April 4.
