Derry GOP Committee meets tomorrow

DERRY — The Derry Republican Town Committee will host Congressman Peter King, R-N.Y. as the speaker at its meeting tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 W. Broadway.

Congressional candidate Frank Guinta will be attendance.

Also, one of many local charities that the Derry GOP Committee supports — Sonshine Soup Kitchen — has put out an urgent appeal for food. Visit sonshinesoupkitchen.org for current needs. Donations will be collected at the meeting.

A short business meeting will follow. Refreshments will be served.

SARL hosts rabies clinic

SALEM — Salem Animal Rescue League is hosting a rabies and microchip clinic on Saturday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The clinic is open to the general public.

Prices are $12 for a one-year rabies, $15 for a three-year (proof of prior rabies in the form of a signed rabies certificate must be provided), and $20 for a microchip. No other vaccines or services will be provided at this clinic.

All dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers. Visit sarlnh.org.

Teen Anime event is March 29

PELHAM — The Teen Anime Club is hosting ToshoCon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Pelham Public Library, 24 Village Green.

The event blends teen manga and anime culture. There will be games, panel discussions, a costume contest and display of art work. Admission is one can of food to benefit the Pelham Food Pantry.

PELHAM — A four-week karate program for kids ages 4 to 7 starts March 31. The cost is $20.
