TAMWORTH (AP) — The Carroll County sheriff says alcohol and speed may have been factors in a collision in Tamworth that killed one of the drivers.
Sheriff Domenic Richardi told WMWV-FM his officers responded at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to a collision at the intersection of Plains and Ossipee Lake Roads.
He said Michael Sargent of Albany was driving a pickup truck westbound on Ossipee Lake Road when he collided with a tractor trailer truck that was northbound on Plains Road. Sargent died at the scene.
The other driver was not hurt.
