KINGSTON — The Knitting Clubs of Kingston Community Library and Fremont Public Library invite the public to knit a hat for a homeless veteran on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Kingston Community Library.Join for the whole day or drop in for an hour.
Bring knitting needles and worsted weight yarn. They have quick and easy instructions or use a favorite pattern. Those who crochet are welcome, too.
The goal is to produce 50 hats. The hats will top Christmas stockings filled with toiletries. The Liberty House in Manchester and the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center in Haverhill, Mass., will distribute them to the homeless veterans that they service.
Can’t come that day, but would like to help? Make hats at home and drop them off at Kingston Community Library. Yarn donations would also be sincerely appreciated.
For further information, call Gerry Tilley at 895-6658.
