---- — ATKINSON — The town Firefighter’s Association is holding its annual turkey raffle on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Atkinson Fire Department.
There will be 25 raffles with prizes, including a turkey. Previous year’s prizes have included a iPod, a seven-night stay in Florida and a television.
The Fire Department is at 1 Academy Ave.
Be aware of carbon monoxide
WINDHAM — The Windham Fire Department is joining with the State Fire Marshal’s Office to encourage carbon monoxide safety this month.
The department is recommending people install carbon monoxide detectors, test alarms frequently, refrain from idling vehicles in garages and keep gas appliances properly adjusted.

'Evening of Style' is Nov. 14
HAVERHILL — The "Evening of Style" event will be Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St.
Wardrobe stylist Susan Kanoff will offer shopping tips and strategies to save money and time and outfit ideas, and ways to determine the best styles and colors. Hair and makeup tips will be offered by Grace Moschetto of Grace Professional Cosmetics and by stylists from the Robert Jason Salon.

Free program for non-native English speakers
LAWRENCE — Advanced non-native English speakers who are looking to raise their reading and writing skills to the college level are invited to attend a Career Pathways Bridge Program Information Session on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at NECC Riverwalk, 360 Merrimack St., Building 9, Entry K, Room 310.
This program is offered by Northern Essex Community College and begins this winter. In this free, two-semester program, students will explore business and technology careers; improve their English reading and writing skills; learn business communication, computer applications, and workplace skills; and earn six college credits. This program is open to advanced English speakers with a high school diploma, GED, or college degree from another country. Admission to this program is based on a placement test.
