KINGSTON — Neighbors Helping Newborns will have its next work group meeting Wednesday at the First Congregational Church, Church Street.
People are asked to bring holiday cookies since the group is celebrating Christmas in July.
The group has begun its annual Christmas stocking project and is sewing hundreds of stockings just big enough for newborn babies.
The stockings will be delivered to hospitals in December.
Even people who do not sew or knit can help out by lending a hand with sorting donations, cutting out patterns and packaging infant clothing.
A free workshop will be hosted by the Pine Tree Quilt Shop in Salem on Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stretch-knit hats and pants will be made.
Call Pine Tree at 870-8100 to reserve a spot.
To donate or learn about volunteer opportunities, attend the next meeting or contact Sue Woulfe at info@neighborsHelpingNewborns.org or 382-3405.
