SALEM — An Auburn man was charged with indecent exposure and lewdness Tuesday after police caught him with his pants down in the Welcome Center parking lot just off Interstate 93.
Detectives working on an unrelated case spotted Robert Lorden, 44, sitting in a vehicle at the far end of the parking lot just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy police Chief Shawn Patten.
The car seat was completely reclined, according to police.
When they approached his vehicle, they found Lorden trying to put a jacket over his lap and pull up his pants, Patten said. Police found several napkins “strewn around the vehicle.”
Lorden was taken into custody without incident, charged and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.
