Storyteller comes

to Derry next week

DERRY — Derry Public Library will host folklorist and storyteller Rebecca Rule, presenting her program “That Reminds Me of a Story” on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 1:30 p.m.

Rule has collected stories about what’s special about New Hampshire for more than 15 years, and includes many of them in her new book, “Headin’ for the Rhubarb: A NH Dictionary (Kinda).”

She recently received an honorary doctorate from New England College for storytelling and contributions to New Hampshire. Her work in Berlin collecting stories of the mills, logging, and the Androscoggin Valley reinforced her idea that New England stories need to be preserved and shared.

In this program, Rule will tell some of her favorites (especially the funny ones) and invite audience members to tell some of their own.

Call the library at 432-6140 for more information.
