Gale Library has a lot going on

NEWTON — All Winter Reading Programs are underway at Gale Library. Simply sign up and enter the books you read on a reading log.

When participants reach a goal, they may choose a prize book. All program members will be entered into a weekly prize drawing and the grand prize drawing on March 4, when we will celebrate the finale with a Bingo For Books night at 6:30 p.m.

Teen, tween and adult readers can “Snuggle Up with that Good Book” and then register, read, and enter a weekly prize lottery. It’s a great way to break those winter doldrums.

There will be Valentine Crafts on Saturday at 11 a.m. On Monday at 6:30 p.m., school-age children can make a Pierced Valentine Picture Frame.

Drop in anytime to make a Valentine card with stickers, stamps and glitter.

Vacation Movies continue on Feb. 27 and March 1 at 1 p.m., with recent releases and popcorn, too. Bring a friend. Call the library, 382-4691 for film titles.

Storyhour is held every Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Valentine and penguin stories, songs, and craft and with plenty of time for afternoon kindergarten children to get to school. Bring a snack to share for the Storyhour Valentine Party on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.

The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, for the holiday.

On Wednesdays, Feb. 13 and 27, teens and tweens will have a Game Night with Wii and board games at 6 p.m.

During school vacation card and board games, Legos and puzzles will be available for Fun With A Friend any day and time a scheduled program is not being held.

Watch for Read Across America Week, celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday March 4-9 with special storytimes and lots of Where It’s Hat! activities will be going on.

Call 382-4691 for more information or to register for programs.
