---- — SALEM — The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Committee invites the public to be part of the Chamber’s “Business Pillar Awards.” These awards are designed to recognize the contributions of local businesses, and allow them to gain recognition as Business of the Year.
To qualify, businesses and organizations must be currently active in business in the area of the Chamber’s five member towns of Atkinson, Hampstead, Pelham, Salem and Windham.
Four local businesses will be honored, one from each of these categories: Small Business (less than 25 employees); Large Business (greater than 25 employees); New Business (less than 3 years old); Not For Profit.
Businesses will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Economic Development Breakfast on April 18. Nominations are due to the office by March 8.

Disabilities workshop set in Pelham
PELHAM — A workshop for parents, educators and youth volunteers who work with children who have disabilities will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday at First Congregational Church, 3 Main St.
Led by Diane Andrews, the workshop will focus on how adults can respond in a constructive, inclusive and encouraging manner.
David Wilkerson, Cub Master for Pack 610, also is participating. Wilkerson is a retired minister who has years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities.
Vans to open at Rockingham mall
SALEM — Vans, a sports footwear and apparel store, will open March 8 at The Mall at Rockingham Park.
The store will be on the mall’s second level near Lord & Taylor. Vans will open another store that same day at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua.
Vans offers a wide range of men’s and women’s apparel, footwear and accessories, including sandals, snowboard boots and skate shoes.

Checklist supervisors meet March 2
NEWTON — The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet at Town Hall on Saturday, March 2, to make changes and corrections to the town’s list of voters.
The supervisors will be available from 11 to 11:30 a.m. This is the last opportunity to register to vote before the election March 12.

Danville supervisors gather March 2
DANVILLE — The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet at Town Hall on Saturday, March 2, to update the town list of voters.
The supervisors will register new voters and accept changes in party affiliation between 11 and 11:30 a.m.
