State Police Director Col. Robert Quinn said there were 21 DUI arrests and 28 other criminal arrests over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
There were no fatal motor vehicle crashes in the state.
State police started their special enforcement at 9 p.m. Friday and ended it at 3 a.m. yesterday.
State troopers maintained a high-visibility presence on the state’s highways.
Two local residents were among those charged over the weekend.
Jason Putnam, 34, of Londonderry was charged with DUI-subsequent and resisting arrest.
John Barbagallo, 24, of Windham was charged with possession of a controlled drug.
Several erratic and impaired drivers were identified and apprehended as a result of phone calls by “responsible citizens reporting their unsafe and erratic operation.,” Quinn said.
