Sheriff re-elected, county attorney is out

PELHAM – Hillsborough County voters re-elected Sheriff James Hardy, but voted out County Attorney Dennis Hogan.

Republican incumbent Hogan lost a close race to his Democratic challenger, Patricia LaFrance, who has served under Hogan as an assistant county prosecutor. LaFrance defeated Hogan, 89,878 to 87,650.

Republican Hardy prevailed over Democrat Bill Barry, 94,500 to 86,330.

In the race for county commissioner of District 2, which represents Pelham, Republican incumbent Sandra Ziehm defeated Democratic challenger Lori Movesian, 27,942 to 27,376.

Pelham played a key role in Ziehm’s victory, giving her 3,419 votes to 2,246 for Movesian.
