Members of the High School Facilities Committee will speak about three warrant articles: the land purchase, building a new high school on a new site, and renovations to the high school for use by seventh- and eighth-graders.
Celebrate the year of the tiger at Nesmith Library
WINDHAM — Nesmith Library will celebrate the Chinese New Year on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The celebration of the lunar year of the tiger begins with a performance by the Youth Eastern String Troupe.
There also will be a Chinese yo-yo demonstration, a tea ceremony, and a Taiwanese lion dance.

Children's carnival slated to take place in in Salem
SALEM — Region 10's Community Support Services Inc. will host its 13th annual Kids Carnival on Saturday at Woodbury Middle School.
The carnival is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Although admission is free, donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds benefit people with developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders.
Activities include a coloring contest, the Ronald McDonald magic show at noon, pictures with the Lowell Spinners' and Manchester Monarchs' mascots, games and demonstrations. For more information, call Region 10 at 893-1299.
Musquash Field Day set for Saturday in Londonderry
LONDONDERRY — The town's Conservation Commission and University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension are cosponsoring the 18th annual Musquash Conservation Area Field Day on Saturday, Feb. 13.
This free event, to be held with or without snow, is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can hike out to the landing and enjoy refreshments around an open fire. They also can explore the woodlands and see cellar holes, and learn about winter botany and local wildlife.
People also can practice using snowshoes provided by Eastern Mountain Sports, depending on the weather and snow conditions.

Kids can shoot hoops in Hampstead Sunday
HAMPSTEAD — Knights of Columbus Council 9058 will host its annual free throw basketball competition Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at Hampstead Middle School.
The competition is open to boys and girls in the Greater Hampstead area between the ages of 10 and 14. Age eligibility is determined as of Jan. 1, 2010, and a birth certificate or other proof of age must be presented during registration.

Hampstead Knights serve a roast beef dinner Saturday
HAMPSTEAD — The Knights of Columbus, St. Maximilian Kolbe Council, will host a roast beef dinner Saturday at St. Anne Church Hall on Emerson Avenue.
The menu also will include potatoes, vegetables, salad, bread and dessert. The donation is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12.
