WINDHAM — A Windham High graduate attending the University of New Hampshire is missing, campus police announced yesterday.
Jonathan Zygmont, 19, has been missing since Tuesday night.
“He was last seen in Portsmouth near Prescott Park at approximately 8:30 p.m.,” UNH police said.
The campus police do not suspect foul play, but said they have reason to be concerned for his well being.
“Based on the information we have, we’re eager to find Jonathan and make sure he’s OK,” Chief Paul Dean said.
Police said in a press release that Zygmont was believed to be having relationship problems and was despondent.
Zygmont graduated from Windham High last year, school officials said.
He had been on the honor roll while at Windham High and was on the wrestling team as a freshman.
UNH police asked anyone with information to call them at 862-1427.
Zygmont is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds.
He was wearing black shoes, khaki pants and a brown sweatshirt with the name “Burton” on it in red lettering.
He was carrying a black North Face backpack.
Principal Ryan Kaplan is new to Windham High this year and did not know Zygmont.
“Our support goes out to the family and the police in looking to find this young man,” Kaplan said.
Windham police Capt. Mike Caron said the department had reached out to UNH to offer what assistance it can.
