---- — PLAISTOW — Route 121A will be closed at Kelly Brook starting tonight for two nights for culvert work. The road closure is necessary to install a 48-inch reinforced concrete overflow culvert with precast concrete headwalls.
The night closure is expected to begin today at 7:30 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. tomorrow. The closure will occur again tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and reopen on Friday at 6 a.m.
Uniformed officers will provide traffic control for a detour that will incorporate Kelley Road and Old County Road.
Sad Café fundraiser aids Red Cross
PLAISTOW — Country music star Brandon Lepere and his band, The Ragged Impresarios, raised more than $600 for the American Red Cross when they hosted a benefit performance on Friday at The Sad Café.
Country singer Lexi James and her band and KC Spina helped round out the show at the family-friendly venue.
“This was such a great opportunity for us to help American Red Cross and do some good for an organization that is always there to help people in need when disaster strikes,” Lepere said. “American Red Cross helps people all over the country, wherever there is need. I’m so happy to help in any way I can, and the best way I know how is through music.”
Firefighters host cookoff, open house
WINDHAM — The Fire Department’s open house and chili cookoff is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3 Fellows Road. There will be tours of the station, an arson dog demonstration, junior firefighter challenge and fire extinguisher training.
Sandown will be full of yard sales

PLAISTOW — The Timberlane High School Student Council will host Kids Night Out Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria and gym.
There will be sports, crafts, board games, movies and more. Snacks and a pizza dinner will be provided.

PLAISTOW — The Plaistow Lions Club will hold a food drive Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Timberlane Plate Glass Co., 108 Main St.
The drive will benefit Holy Angels Food Pantry.
