DANVILLE — Police arrested a local man and seized marijuana, pills, firearms and more than $400,000 in cash.
John Paul Bouraphael, 32, of 67A Cobblers Ridge Road faces several charges, police Chief Wade Parsons said yesterday.
Danville police and members of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department's Narcotics Task Force searched Bouraphael's home Wednesday.
Authorities found numerous containers of marijuana, scales commonly used to weigh the drug, money, prescription drugs and firearms.
A second search warrant was obtained for Bouraphael's bank security box at People's United Bank in Plaistow, where Parsons said police seized more than $400,000.
Bouraphael was charged with felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled drug, possession of a controlled drug not properly labeled, and possession with the intent to distribute.
No details on Bouraphael's previous felony conviction were available yesterday afternoon.
Bouraphael was arraigned Thursday and held on $15,000 cash bail. He is to appear in 10th Circuit Court in Plaistow on Jan. 5 at 10 a.m.
