Ham-and-bean suppers are back in Kingston

---- — KINGSTON — The First Congregational Church hosts ham-and-bean suppers every Saturday through Aug. 31 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

It’s air-conditioned at Rent Fellowship Hall, 6 Church St.

The menu includes ham, homemade baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, hot dogs, brown bread and dessert.

The cost for the all-you-can-eat meal is $5 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12.

Help food pantry, enjoy RC fly-in

DERRY — The fifth annual New England RC Airplane Fly-in starts tomorrow and continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

This year, visitors are asked to bring a nonperishable food donation for the Sonshine Soup Kitchen.

The event, which features a variety of RC airplanes, copters, gliders and more, is at the NH Flying Tigers field on B Street.

Blood donors needed in Salem tomorrow

SALEM — Blood donors are needed tomorrow at First Congregational Church of Salem, 15 Lawrence Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donors will receive a free state park day pass and a $10 coupon toward a Mount Washington cruise.

HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Public Library invites kids to “Dig into the Past” Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Become an archaeologist and check out an excavation site. Make your own fossils and help create a time capsule for the library.

Fishing derby Sunday on Millville Lake

SALEM — The Millville Lake Protective Association will hold its annual fishing derby on Sunday.

Registering at Millville Beach on Millville Circle starts at 7 a.m. Fishing will stop at 11 a.m.

An awards ceremony will follow.
